Keith Urban Lights a Fire at the Patriot Center

With a solid combination of covers, guitar solos and one huge disco ball, Keith Urban’s Northern Virginia stop on his Light the Fuse Tour was anything but just a spark.

Dustin Lynch — known for his hit “Cowboys & Angels” — got the night (and crowd) started with covers of Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places” and David Lee Murphy’s “Dust on the Bottle,” as well as his aforementioned single.

Little Big Town followed. They kept the momentum and covers going with Oak Ridge Boys’ “Elvira” and a goose bump-inducing rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” before going into their own popular tracks like “Tornado,” “Pontoon” and “Boondocks.”

Urban was, naturally, the high point of the evening. He ran through his long string of hits (and through the arena) including “Fly with Me,” “Kiss a Girl,” “Long Hot Summer” and plenty more. One of the (many) highlights of the night was bringing a 22-year-old girl up to celebrate her birthday by sitting her down and singing “Only You Can Love Me This Way,” a song chosen by the birthday girl herself.

Urban managed to keep the energy up and the party going throughout his entire 90-minute set with fans singing along through each and every hit, giving the crowd just what he wanted, a little bit of everything.
