Mistaken Identities & Romantic Shenanigans in Loudoun’s Theater

9 February 2013 No Comment

Taking Flight Theatre Company will open its 2013 season with D.C. playwright Ken Ludwig’s fast-paced farce “The Fox on the Fairway” the weekends of Feb. 15-17 and Feb. 22-23.

Friday performances are at 8 p.m., Saturday performances are both at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday performances are at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors and can be purchased online at tftheatre.org. Cash, check or credit cards are accepted at the door.

All performances will be at the Waddell Theater on NOVA’s Loudoun campus, located at 1000 Harry Byrd Highway (Route 7) in Sterling.

The Fox on the Fairway is a hilarious romp that tells the story of a golf tournament between two snobbish country clubs. Bingham, the owner of Quail Valley Country Club, places a bet with Dickie, the owner of rival club Crouching Squirrel, over the tournament. He bets the club, his savings, and even his wife’s livelihood. Modeled after the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s, “The Fox on the Fairway” is filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors and romantic shenanigans.

The cast includes: Barbara Carpenter (Sterling) as Muriel; Will Olivier (Sterling) as Justin; Dell Pendergrast (McLean) as Mr. Bingham; Jessie Roberts (Great Falls) as Pamela Peabody; and Bob Rosenburg (Leesburg) as Dickie Bell.

Produced by Leah Aspell (Reston), The Fox on the Fairway will be directed by Colleen Stock (Ashburn), and stage managed byLiz Stock-Olivier (Sterling).
