All the more reason for NVCC to change it’s student and employee regulations to allow the carrying of legally owned weapons that many can carry outside of the school campus.
I am a current NVCC student who regularly carries around my pistol for instances such as being mugged outside of my school campus. I cannot, however, bring my firearm onto school grounds because it’s against school policy. At the same time NVCC Police and/or Alexandria Police are a phone call (if you can manage to make one) and at least a few minutes away, sometimes more.
Everybody needs to step back and look at the greater picture here… When you make it a rule or law to disallow the carry of firearms, then only law abiding citizens will be disarmed. Remember that criminals, in their nature, DON’T FOLLOW LAWS.
So when you make it a rule or law to disallow the carry of firearms then only the criminals are armed.
I, for one, would like to see NVCC change their policy on Campus Carry of lawfully owned weapons.
