Higher Education Council to Meet at Washington & Lee University
The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia will hold meetings of its Executive, Resources and Planning, and Academic Affairs committees beginning at noon on Monday, May 16 at Washington & Lee University in Lexington.
The Academic Affairs Committee is scheduled to discuss topics including a proposal to change the name of the law school at George Mason University. Other subjects to be discussed in committees include proposed institutional performance measures, draft regulations for workforce credentials and the Fund for Innovation and Excellence.
In the afternoon, Council members will join presidents of private nonprofit colleges and universities at an annual meeting of the Private College Advisory Board. In addition, members will tour the university and attend a reception and dinner hosted by the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia.
Council will hold its regular business meeting 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., on Tuesday, May 17, at Washington & Lee University’s Northern Auditorium in the Leyburn Library.
