Virginia’s General Assembly recently appointed lawyer Petula C. Metzler to a new fifth judgeship in the Prince William County General District Court in Manassas. She will begin her term July 1.
Metzler is a 1994 graduate of George Mason University.
She will be the first African-American to serve on the county’s General District Court, according to GMU’s website.
