The Virginia Department of Transportation will close the high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes on I-395/95 from the Washington, D.C., line to Dumfries Road weather permitting. The closure will take place at 11 p.m. on July 12 until 10 a.m. on July 13 and again on Saturday night from 11 p.m., until 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, July 14.

The extended closures are necessary for overnight construction work on the I-95 Express Lanes Project. This work is in addition to the total closure scheduled for I-95 South between Dumfries Road, Exit 152 to Joplin Road/Route 619 (USMC Quantico), Exit 150.

Traffic will be detoured to U.S. Route 1.
