NOVA Alexandria Hosting Post-Election Conference

Northern Virginia Community College’s Institute for Public Service is hosting a post-election conference on Nov. 13-14. The conference will feature keynote speakers, panels on social media & elections, foreign perspectives, state & local elections and national politics.

Panelists will feature representatives from The Huffington Post, Executive Briefing on Technology, POLITICO, TVN Poland, transAtlantic Magazine, The Connection Newspapers, Alexandria City Council, SAIC, Virginia House of Delegates, Cook Political Report and National Public Radio.

The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, Nov. 13
9:15 a.m.: Opening remarks
9:30 a.m.: Keynote speaker Brian Lamb, founder and executive chairman of C-SPAN
9:55 a.m. Panel 1- Social Media & Elections
11:05 a.m. Panel 2- Foreign Perspectives

Wednesday, Nov. 14
9:15 a.m.: Opening remarks
9:30 a.m.: Keynote speaker Chris Zimmerman, board member of the Arlington County Board
9:55 a.m.: State & Local Elections
11:05 a.m.: National Politics & Elections

Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center on the Alexandria campus of Northern Virginia Community College, 3001 North Beauregard Street.

The NOVA Institute for Public Service is a department within the Liberal Arts Division of the Alexandria Campus of Northern Virginia Community College. It is dedicated to applying the resources of the College to community work that supports the public good. It promotes engagement of the College with community projects, student learning about public policy-making and community needs, as well as student and faculty research on issues related to local and state policy questions and decision-making.
