On the eve of Election Day, Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, have rallies scheduled in Sterling, near the Loudoun campus of Northern Virginia Community College, and in Richmond.

Dr. Biden is a teacher at the Alexandria campus of Northern Virginia Community College. She has continued to teach this semester and has campaigned for President Barack Obama on days when she doesn’t have classes.

In the final push for the presidency, both campaigns have accepted star power to get people to come out to their rallies. Kid Rock has performed at campaign events for Mitt Romney and, just last Saturday night, musician Dave Matthews gave a performance at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow for an Obama rally.

Tonight’s rally in Richmond will also include a free concert by Obama-Biden supporter John Mellencamp, previously known as John Cougar Mellencamp. Famous musicians provide a big draw, and their endorsements carry some weight with fans.

In addition to the Bidens, Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.) and former Democratic Governor Tim Kaine, who is running for senate against Republican George Allen, will give speeches.

The event is being held at Historic Tredegar Iron Works downtown.
