NOVA Offers Most Online Learning Programs in the Commonwealth
The Extended Learning Institute at Northern Virginia Community College offers more online learning programs than any other higher education institution in Virginia.
Students can now earn a degree or certificate in 40 different programs completely online. Recently added programs include associate degree in marketing with international marketing specialization and certificate in early childhood education.
“Our goal is to offer a variety of flexible degree programs to help everyone who wants to pursue a college education,” said Jennifer Lerner, associate vice president for eLearning. “With so many online learning options, anyone can achieve their goal of earning a degree.”
The Extended Learning Institute has nationally recognized faculty and more than 36 years of experience in the field. Courses are structured similar to traditional classroom instruction and most exams can be completed using a webcam wherever Internet access is available.
Support services include around-the-clock technical assistance and tutoring, success coaches, counselors, librarian, and financial aid. In addition, free webinars and tutorials cover such topics as orientation, library resources, career options and more.
Registration is taking place now for nearly 400 courses that begin Aug. 22, Sept. 5, Sept. 26 and Oct. 17. Students can choose eight-week, 12-week or 16-week courses.
