2 Robberies Hit Alexandria Campus in a Week

A second robbery in a week on the Alexandria campus left students and faculty on high alert.

A person who was neither a student nor a staff member was robbed at knife point on the Alexandria campus Monday, Feb. 6 just before 6 p.m. Then, on Wednesday, Feb. 15, a female was robbed while retrieving items from her vehicle on Dawes Avenue.

According to Jody D. Donaldson of the Alexandria Police Department, the victim was approached from behind by a man who demanded her property. The victim resisted and was scratched by the man while he was trying to take her bags.

The victim was treated on the scene by paramedics.

The suspect fled the area with the female’s property.

According to the NOVA Alert that went out to students and staff, the suspect was seen running toward King Street.

The suspect is described as a black male, possibly 6-foot-3-inches tall, wearing a black jacket and black jeans.

The suspect in the Feb. 6 crime is described as a male in his mid- to late teens, with a dark complexion, standing 5-foot-6-inches tall, weighing approximately 110 pounds, wearing a black North Face coat, gray jeans and a red and purple hat.
