About 80 NOVA athletics, coaches and managers from six teams gathered at the Springfield Hilton on the night of April 28 to celebrate their various sports, at the annual sports banquet organized by NOVA college-wide activities coordinator Brian Anweiler.

Dr. Mark Kidd, Dean of Students at the Manassas campus gave some opening remarks, followed by a photo slideshow of the sports during the past season. Then each team’s coaches presented plaques to each player and a Coach’s Award and a Most Valuable Player award. Awardees included the following:

Men’s Lacrosse
Coach’s Award-Andrew Kim
MVP-Peter Wiles

Women’s basketball also presented special awards to two-year assistant coach Vanessa Baker and special assistant Kristin Dukes, both former players.
