Who Will Be Crowned NOVA Idol?
On Friday, March 25 at 7 p.m., nine of NOVA’s top singing sensations will battle for the title of this year’s NOVA Idol. The college finalists are Erika Anderson, John Ashburn, Martina Green, Lyndsi Hicks, Kelley Kime, Elaine Lopez, Laura Manzer, Lauren McLeod and Edwin Thorpe. And from various high schools in the region, CJ Marble, Devyn Metz, Padideh Guodarzi Nejad and Joao Versos will be competing for a prize of $1,000.
The first-place prize for the college winners is $4,000, second place $2,500 and third place $1,000.
To enjoy this auditory feast, all NOVA students, faculty and staff need do is show up at the Schlesinger Center of the Alexandria campus at the date and time listed above, flash their NOVA ID cards, and they will be admitted for free to witness the launching point for perhaps many a musical shooting star.
For the general public, admission costs $10.
Doors open at 6 p.m. So, come behold the magic of blossoming stardom. Who knows, you may be downloading their music in the not-too-distant future.
