The latest changes to Dumfries’ historic boundaries were made by the town council in 2005. The problem is they were never amended in the town code, so now Virginia’s oldest-chartered town must revert to boundaries drawn in 1790.

A Chance to Take Your Kids Fishing in PWC

These youth fishing tournaments are free, though parking will cost a few dollars. Because it’s for children up to age 15, a fishing license is not required as it would be for adults.

Do you just need an outlet to hone your hidden creative talents? NOVA Annandale Library’s Multi-media Center has the equipment and software you need to create websites, videos, sound recordings, presentations, and more. To that end, the Center – located next to the library’s information desk in the CG building room 300 – is stocked with a wide variety of media equipment—such as digital cameras with tripods, video recorders, MP3 players, Kindles, and Edirol sound recorders—to help stoke those creative fires. All you need to do is present your NOVA ID at the information desk to gain access to both the equipment and the software.

Rep. Gerry Connolly to Deliver Keynote Address

Rep. Gerald E. “Gerry” Connolly will be the guest speaker at Northern Virginia Community College’s 45th Commencement on Sunday, May 15. Approximately 6,000 students are graduating this spring and eligible to participate in the ceremony that begins at 2 p.m. in George Mason University’s Patriot Center. The event is open to the public.

Woodbridge to Get New Building

It was a moment of progressive change and long-awaited excitement as the participants in the Northern Virginia Community College Woodbridge campus groundbreaking ceremony watched the beginning of the festivities in the campus theater. A moving opening speech by the Woodbridge campus provost, Dr. Sam Hill, welcomed the prestigious attendees and several key advocates who were involved in the process of making the addition of a new building at Woodbridge possible.
