As students made their way up the stairs toward the CF plaza and cafeteria at the Annandale campus of Northern Virginia Community College on Sept. 21, one could hear loud music playing and singing but quickly realize it wasn’t in English.

The leaves are beginning to change, the fall breezes are coming in and every time you walk into a store you’re greeted with a wide selection of Halloween goodies and Christmas ones too. Fall is officially here, and what is one of the best things about this season? No, the answer is not your midterm exams – it’s hayrides, pumpkin patches and tons of outdoor seasonal fun.

Free food, internships and late night study sessions comprise the genetic make-up of many college students’ lives. But singer Graham Colton, who will be playing Oct. 1 at Jammin’ Java in Vienna, pursued a decidedly different college legacy.

The NoVa Woodbridge Theatre Group has done it again with their spring musical, Reefer Madness: The Musical! This challenging show is a parody of the 1938 anti-marijuana propaganda film.

Dr. Eric Trumbull, the professor of theater at NOVA, directed the show, assisted by Brittany Mignoli, who — like many other cast members — is applying the show toward the requirements of one or more of her classes.
