Activities Department Hires Intramural Sports Specialist

The college-wide student activities department welcomed Jeff Dukat in January as its Intramural and Recreation Specialist. He will work to improve intramural and recreational opportunities for Northern Virginia Community College students.

NOVA Idol 2012 Winners!

On March 23 in the Schlesinger Concert Hall at Alexandria campus, Martina Green won the college division of NOVA Idol with her performance of “Home” by Stephanie Mills. The winner of the high school division was Joao Versos with his performance of “Purple Rain” by Prince.

Pregnancy and Parenting Center to Offer Services

As adults getting an education, NOVA students come in a variety of ages and many have or are starting families. In order to serve these students, the new Office of Pregnant and Parenting Student Support (OPPSS), which is based in the Medical Campus in Springfield, will begin making visits to the other five NOVA campuses.
