U.S. Senator Mark Warner will meet with students at George Mason University in Fairfax on Tuesday, Feb. 16 to discuss his support for Hillary Clinton’s proposals to ensure costs won’t be a barrier for students who want to attend college and that debt won’t hold them back after graduation.

Clinton’s New College Compact will ensure that students can attend a 4-year public college without taking out loans for tuition and attend community college tuition-free. In Virginia alone, approximately 118,300 in-state, full-time students at four-year public colleges, and 190,500 community college students could benefit from the New College Compact. In the Senate, Warner has been a leader on efforts to alleviate student debt.

“Hillary Clinton is the only candidate for President with realistic proposals to help students pay for college so they can graduate without being buried in debt,” said Warner. “Families and students are already doing their part, and Hillary will fight to make sure that access to higher education stays within the reach of Virginia families.”
