HeroHomes, a not for profit foundation dedicated to providing deserving veterans the pride of home ownership, has announced the launch of their crowdfunding campaign on CloudDonate.com. A total of 45 days in length, the campaign aims to raise $500,000 to secure five land parcels for building safe, healthy homes designed for the special needs of the wounded.

“Earlier this year, my colleague at HeroHomes, Jason, was asked to manage a home building project in Lovettsville, Virginia, for Wounded Vet Tony Porta,” said Aimee McGranahan, leadership chair at HeroHomes. Now part of our leadership team, Tony is a medically retired Marine corporal who sustained injuries from an IED explosion while serving in Iraq. Inspired by his story, we founded HeroHomes to help Veterans and their families secure home ownership. The flagship project of HeroHomes is set in the heart of Loudoun Valley in the town of Purcellville, Virginia, located 50 miles outside the nation’s capital. Our first home in this community is set on a third acre in an established community near the heart of town.

HeroHomes has partnered with CloudDonate.com to raise the project funds. CloudDonate.com will serve as the campaign manager and has pledged to refund a significant portion of their fee back to HeroHomes.

“There are five locations of interest for establishing homes that accommodate the special needs of the wounded,” said McGranahan. “We just signed the letter of intent to purchase a lot in the Village Case community in Purcellville. We need your help to achieve our goal for deserving Veterans. We must raise $230,000 of our $500,000 goal in the next 45 days to finalize the land purchase and complete the basement. Please, tell your friends, neighbors, and family to go to CloudDonate.com and donate towards our cause.”

The crowdfunding campaign is currently live and accepting donations. To read more about HeroHomes and the specific details of the home they are building, visit: CloudDonate.com.
