Paper Shred and Holiday Food Drive

Prince William County Solid Waste Division in partnership with NBC4 and other community partners will conduct a Community Shred and Holiday Food Drive for ACTS and SERVE (NVFS) on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Manassas campus of Northern Virginia Community College.

To participate, your car must be in line on Nova Way by 11 a.m., and no business vehicles are permitted. There is a five-box maximum per car to be shredded.

This year, local food banks SERVE and ACTS will be collecting non-perishable items to help those in need. They are asking for those coming to the shred event to please bring one or more non-perishable food or household items to donate.

There will be collection bins on site, and patrons will not need to leave their vehicles.

Here is a list of requested items:

  • Canned Tuna or other canned meat
  • Pasta in a box
  • Pasta sauce
  • Canned vegetables
  • Peanut Butter
  • Grape Jelly
  • Canned soups
  • Canned beans
  • Cold and hot cereals
  • Boxed macaroni and cheese
  • SpaghettiOs
  • Canned fruit
  • Oatmeal
  • Diapers
  • Soap
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Shampoo
  • Deodorant
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Laundry supplies
  • Toilet paper
  • Household cleaning supplies
  • Paper towels
