Friends,
Today is about remembering and honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. On this Memorial Day, I want to take a moment to give thanks for the bravery of the incredible men and women who have served in the military.

Honoring these sacrifices isn’t just about the past. It’s about doing everything we can to protect those who serve now and in the future. That’s why I’m committed to working to help ensure that those in uniform have the resources they need and that returning veterans have access to the jobs and medical care they deserve.

In many Virginia neighborhoods, veterans and military families are the heart of the community. They’re a reminder of the kind of selfless service that makes this nation great.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Memorial Day and may God bless those in our armed forces.

Sincerely,
Mark Herring
Attorney General

Today I ask all Virginians to take a moment and reflect on the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to our country and died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. As a veteran of the United States Army, I have had the privilege to serve alongside some of the very finest men and women in this country who so bravely risk their lives defending our freedom. To those who died while serving our nation, I salute you and your families on this day of remembrance. We are all eternally grateful for your service and sacrifice.

Take care,
Ralph Northam
Virginia Lieutenant Governor
