Hard Times Cafe to Hold Event for Injured Officer
After nearly two months of recuperating from serious injuries in the hospital and rehabilitation center, Fairfax County Police Pfc. Officer Long Dinh, 28, is heading home.
Doctors expect a lengthy recuperation period and have indicated that it will be a long, challenging road to recovery.
In support of medical needs and expenses there are several fundraisers underway for Dinh, and the community is invited to join in.
Hard Times Café will host a social gathering on Sunday, April 28. All are encouraged to come to their Fairfax City location at 4069 Chain Bridge Road for a day of festivities between noon-7 p.m.
A silent auction, includes such items as; a Redskins football helmet signed by Robert Griffin III, a football jersey signed by Drew Bres, Capitals tickets, Nationals tickets, police gear, massages, gift baskets, and dozens of certificates for restaurants and events.
There will also be t-shirts and raffle tickets for sale at the event. All proceeds will be handled by the Fraternal Order of Police-Lodge 77 and go towards Dinh’s medical needs.
There will also be a benefit hockey game on Sunday, April 28 at 5 p.m. The game will feature Fairfax County Police versus Metropolitan Police officers at Kettler Capitals Iceplex at 627 North Glebe Road in Arlington.
