Women’s Basketball Coach Needed

Due to unforeseen circumstances Northern Virginia Community College regrets that the Women’s Basketball season has been suspended for the 2012-13 academic year. NOVA Athletics is anticipating moving forward once again with women’s basketball for the 2013-2014 season.

NOVA is seeking a head women’s basketball coach for the 2013-14 academic year.

HEAD COACH POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED: Education, experience, training, or combination equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management, Coaching, Physical Education, or related field. Experience in student-athlete skill assessment with ability to organize team and maximize student-athlete’s abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills with experience working well with diverse populations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and perform well with or without supervision. Ability to assess team needs and develop goal-oriented action plans. Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Valid VA Driver’s License.

DESIRED: Post-secondary coaching and/or collegiate playing/coaching experience. Experience in student academic monitoring. Experience in sports fundraising. Knowledge of college recruiting/transfer process.
